Filming for The Child In Time has begun, with Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire, Trainspotting) Stephen Campbell Moore (The History Boys, The Go-Between) and Saskia Reeves (Wolf Hall, Wallander) joining Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Parade’s End) in Stephen Butchard’s adaptation of Ian McEwan’s award-winning novel.
Produced by Pinewood Television and SunnyMarch TV for BBC One and co-produced by MASTERPIECE on PBS, The Child In Time is a lyrical and heart-breaking exploration of love, loss and the power of things unseen.
Set two years after his daughter went missing, The Child In Time follows Stephen Lewis (Cumberbatch), a children’s author, as he struggles to find purpose in his life without her. His wife Julie (Macdonald) has left him and his best friends Charles (Campbell Moore) and Thelma (Reeves) have retired to the countryside, battling demons of their own. With tenderness and insight, the film explores the dark territory of a marriage devastated, the loss of childhood, the fluidity of time, grief, hope and acceptance.
MASTERPIECE’s Executive Producer Rebecca Eaton said, “A beautiful book, a deeply moving sсript, and now a cast of first-rate British actors. What a gift.” MASTERPIECE is presented on PBS by WGBH Boston.
David Boulter and Adam Ackland, Executive Producers for SunnyMarch TV said: “We are thrilled such an array of talent have joined Benedict to create The Child In Time, our very first SunnyMarch production.”
Helen Gregory, Executive Producer for Pinewood Television said: “I’m so delighted to have such a talented cast join Benedict, Julian and the team and I’m very much looking forward to seeing them bring Stephen’s sсript to screen.”
Съёмки "Дитя во времени" начались, к Бенедикту Камбербэтчу присоединились Келли Макдональд ("На игле"), Стивен Кэмбелл Мур ("Любители истории") и Саския Ривз ("Волчий зал", "Валландер").
