Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancée Sophie Hunter were as cool as they were comfortable in each other's company when they touched down in London on Monday. The sophisticated pair kept a low key appearance making strides through Heathrow, but revealed subtle hints as their high profile status with tinted shades and hats. Sherlock star Benedict kept a coy smile on his face, while fiancée Sophie couldn't resist a wider grin at her man when the cameras captured them outside the airport.
It was a late overnight flight for the duo, who had been attending the Palm Springs Film Festival in Los Angeles to ring in the new year.
The pair were still inseparable arriving back in their native London, not managing to unlock their hands for the duration of the walk through the empty terminal. They may have been suited and booted the previous evening but it was off-duty chic for Benedict on Sunday's late flight as he shed his tailored garbs in favour of something laidback.
The actor wore his headphones ever-so coolly hanging from his open shirt, just hinting at his in-flight entertainment, and replaced a dinner jacket for a casual leather one that he'd been pictured wearing at LAX the previous evening. For theatre director Sophie, it was a pair of polka dot jogging bottoms that she kept cleverly covered by a long charcoal overcoat. Their outfits had been the same when they left sunny Los Angeles, though Benedict had maintained the look of a perfect English gentleman while in America, sporting his bright white flat cap.
